Update Post - Firenze

Before I continue to tell you some bad news, I want to thank each and everyone that congratulated me for my birthday! I don't think I've been that happy on my birthday for ages, you guys are so sweet, I really appreciated it!!

Now on to the not-so-good stuff.. I think you can already tell by one of my latest post that I'm currently in Firenze. This is just supposed to be a quick update kind of post, because I don't have Wifi where I am staying at.

I'm really sorry and I hope you can understand that there won't be a proper post this week. I'll still try and upload on Sunday (I'm coming back on Saturday) but I won't promise anything since I don't think I'll make it.. I'm really bummed out because I've never missed a week !

Nevertheless, there is still some positive news! There will be a "Follow Me Around" post next week, so I'll take you with me when I'm on vacation. I will probably split up that post into two parts, depending on how much footage I'll get.

I hope you're at least looking forward to the FMA and again, I am so sorry to skip this weeks posts..
Have a nice week and I'll talk to you soon on twitter or next week on the blog!

Fashion Icon - TeenBlogSeries

We all have those people we like to draw inspiration from when it comes to fashion. In this #teenblogseries post we're all going to share our fashion icons with our readers.

I've always been drawing my inspiration from Blake Lively. She is stunning in everyway possible, definitely one of the best looking women on earth and she has the most amazing style ever. Her style is often more on the casual side, but she wears everything in a really chic way. She looks classy in everything she wears and in my opinion, that's exactly what I would want to look like!

I'm now going to show you some pictures of her outfits that I like most and that I'd wear myself (if I'd look as good as she does in those clothes..).

Here she is on the red carpet. Doesn't she look stunning in everyway possible?

I know this post was mainly pretty pictures to look at, but I hope you enjoyed it anyways! Which people inspire you fashion wise? By the way, I'm currently in Firence; Italy and it's my birthday in two days, yeey!

Makeup bag for Firenze

Some of you might know that I'm going to travel to Firenze, Italy on Saturday and I'm going to stay there till Friday. I'm going by train so it's going to be a loooong 14h journey (at least it's over night, so that I can get some sleep).
I love to snoop into other peoples stuff, so I thought why don't give you guys a look into my makeup bag for the next week.

Of course I have to take all the basics with me, starting of with my maybelline fit me concealer and the KIKO full coverage concealer. They are the only products I use on my face, because I don't like to wear foundation when it's hot and I expect Firenze to be warm, even though it's October..
I also bring the benefit hoola bronzer, the sleek "life's a peach" blush, a maybelline highlighter (it's really old I don't even know the name anymore..) and a translucent powder from Manhattan. I really like to contour my face at the moment and these are the products I use most to do so.
I just realized I photographed the powder twice, whoopsy
Other must haves for me are the maybelline the rocket volume mascara and the Astor big and beautiful mascara. They make my lashes really big and voluminous and long!
I'm really into brows lately, so I bring the maybelline brow drama in "dark brown" and a matte brown eyeshadow from manhatten ("mad maroon") with me.
Lastly I brought my Lorac pro palette to get a pretty eye makeup when I'm going out and this palette is just perfect because it has all kind of colors. I also bring the "behind the scenes" eyeshadow primer from lorac to make sure my eyemakup stays all night.
I normally wouldn't bring so much for a vacation (I like to run around without makeup on), but because it's my birthday next Wednesday (YEEEEY) I want to go out and celebrate with my friends, so I want to be pretty and have a nice makeup look.

I also bring some makeup remover wipes by Bebe and my cleansing gel by Aok. To have smooth and moisturized skin, I bring my favourite moisturizer by Bebe and my eye cream by Balea because I have a super dry eye-area lately (you can see most of these products in my skincare routine).

Of course I'll also pack stuff like toothbrush and toothpaste, a hairbrush, shower gel, shampoo, deodorant etc..

What do you travel with (makeup wise)?
I hope you enjoyed today's post!

Autumn fashion staples - TeenBlogSeries

I think all of you know that I'm not a fashion blogger, but today's #teenblogseries post is about autumn fashion staples!

First staple (at least for me) are little booties! Whether it's a pair of Chelsea boots or some cute little cut out boots, they instantly add the special something to a casual autumn outfit and make it look super cute. I love these one from H&M, they're so cute and go with everything.
Second staple are knit sweaters. For me, knit sweaters are the best thing in the world! They are comfy, super warm and cozy and still look super cute, what else could a girl desire? I love the oversized ones paired with leggings or skinny jeans. They look really effortless and casual but you can always dress them up with some accessories and a nice pair of shoes. This one from H&M is my current favourite.
My third autumn fashion staple is leather. Leather has been a huge trend throughout the whole year, but especially the colder seasons bring many new opportunities and ways to style leather (compared to the hot summer season). Everything leather looks amazing, whether you wear a nice pair of leather leggings, a cool leather jacket, pretty leather boots or a jumper with amazing leather detailing. I've been wearing this one from H&M like crazy recently!

These are all the autumn fashion staples I could think of right now.. Make sure to end me your blog links, so that I can check out your #teenblogseries posts!

Skincare routine / Skincare must haves - TeenBlogSeries

I already posted my skincare routine, so I won't get into detail with the products I use. Instead, I'll talk about skincare in general and about what is most important for me.

In my opinion the most important step is to remove your makeup EVERYDAY. It's the step that makes the biggest difference on your skin. Of course we all get lazy and I don't say that I remove my makeup everyday, because I am lazy too and sonetimes I just forget about removing it. Try to remove your makeup as often as possible. If you don't, it'll clog your pores, which will lead to pimples and zits.
Using too much powder or foundation will also clog the pores, so make sure you don't use more than needed.

Another thing that really helps is using a cleansing gel in the evening to remove all the dirt from your skin. It kills the bacterials, so your skin will stay as good as possible.

If you have dry skin, another really important step is moisturizing! Make sure to moisturize your skin in the morning and in the evening, to keep your skin hydrated and help your makeup to apply really smooth and without clinging on to dry patches.

The last tip I have is to use skincare products suitable to your skintype. Oily skin needs other ingredients than dry skin (for example you should avoid oil based products when you already have oily skin!).

I am no expert and you don't know if the things I just told you are right or completely wrong. That is just what worked/works for me and what has helped MY skin clear up.
Do you have any holy grail skincare products?

Natural everyday makeup look

I'm back with another quick makeup tutorial! This is a really natural makeup look that you can wear on a day to day basis.

Start off with your face routine. Everybody does this different and this is just the way I like to do it. I start with applying concealer on my under eye circles and any blemishes. I then powder myself to get a natural matte finish.
To bring back some life into my face I contour my face with the benefit hoola bronzer. I just make this weird fishy face and apply the bronzer to the hollows of my cheeks. I also drag it up my temples, along the hair line as well as my jawline. I then grab a pink blush and apply that on my cheeks. To highlight my cheekbones I grab a highlighter and apply that to the highest points.
For the eyes I start off by applying the Lorac behind the scenes eye primer all over my lids. I then take a shimmery champagne color and pack the color onto the moving part of the lid. I then grab my blending brush and buff a light brown shadow all the way through my crease. I use a medium brown shadow and focus the color on the outer-V and blend that a little bit into the crease as well. I also apply this color on my lower lash line (half way through). Lastly, I apply a white matte shadow to the corners of my eyes, create a winged eyeliner and apply mascara to my top and bottom lashes.
For brows I use the maybelline brow drama and for lips I'm going with a nude lipstick from maybelline called "624 Iced Caramel" and the NYX butter gloss in "Créme Brulee" on top of that.

That's it for this post, I hope you like it!

Healthy food recipe - TeenBlogSeries

In today's post for the #teenblogseries you'll be able to read a healthy recipe from each of the about 80 bloggers participating. I have to say I'm not the healthiest eater but I do love this easy recipe!

All you need is :
- Salmon
- 1 (small) Zucchini
- Herbs, Salt, Pepper
(- Bread/Baguette)

This is so easy, I'm a little bit ashamed because I know that so many of the bloggers will upload great recipes!
There are two different ways you can make this.

1.) Since I can only get frozen salmon where I live, I start off by taking that out to unfreeze a little bit. I then go ahead and slice my zucchini and flavor the salmon with whatever herbs I like (I use salt, pepper and some Mediterranean herbs). Then, you only need to get a huge piece of aluminum foil and spread half of the zucchini so that you can place the salmon on top of it. Finish off the salmon with another layer of zucchini and close the aluminium foil. Make sure it's secure, so that no liquids (of the salmon or the zucchini) can drip out.
Place the package on the barbecue for about 40 minutes (20 minutes from each side) and then check if the salmon is cooked. The time it takes for the salmon to be cooked varies, so you might put it back on. Once it's ready you have a really delicious salmon with fresh vegetable. You can also roast some slices of bread on the barbecue and eat it with guacamole!

2.) If it's too cold outside you can also cook this recipe in your kitchen. You basically do the exact same thing you would have done in the first alternative. Cut the zucchini and season the salmon. Heat up a big pan with a little bit of olive oil and drop the salmon in. The frozen one takes about 6-8 minutes from each side (fresh one would only take about 4 minutes from each side). Once the salmon is nearly cooked, pop in the zucchini. Season it and bake it until it's golden brown on both sides. Again, just eat some bread with guacamole, if the salmon and zucchini isn't filling enough.
Had no photo of the food, so here is a photo from Google showing nearly the recipe I went for.

I love that this recipe is so quick and easy and still so delicious! Salmon is really good for you because it's full with protein and omega-3 fatty acids. Zucchini is really healthy, too, and the avocado in guacamole is also full of good fats.

Hope you enjoyed today's post!

School Makeup and Outfit - Back to school #3

This is the last post in my back to school series. Today I'll show you which makeup look I'll be wearing in school and what I'll wear to feel extra comfortable but still pretty cute and fashionable. I did stopped the time while doing my makeup to give an impression of how long I need to get ready in the mornings.

Makeup:
I like to keep my makeup really simple for school, so save as much time as possible in the mornings. I start off by moisturizing my skin. I have to say that I used to skip this step but I recently realized that especially a well moisturized under eye area makes me look much more awake! (~30 seconds)

I then apply the Maybelline Fit me! concealer to cover up my under eye circles (which can get really bad during school) and any other spots on my face. My skin has been really weird in the past weeks, I guess my skin knows that it's time for school and the stress coming along with that. If the coverage of the liquid concealer wasn't enough to cover everything up I also apply a little bit of the KIKO full coverage concealer. (~1.30 minutes)
I powder my face to set the concealer and then continue to my favourite step : bronzeeeer! I've been super into contouring and bronzing up my face, so I obviously cannot skip this step. I love using the Bodyshop Honey bronzer because it looks super natural (and it's pitch black outside when I get up and I haven't got good lighting in my room. I'd be afraid using the Hoola bronzer in the dark because I would probably use way too much, this cannot happen with the Honey bronzer..). (~1.30 minutes)
Next up are the brows. On school days I like to go with a matte brown eyeshadow and quickly fill in any sparse spots. I'm mixing these two shades (Lorac "Taupe" and Manhattan "Mad Maroon"). (~30 seconds)
I then apply the Astor Play it Big mascara to my top and bottom lashes and apply a tiny little bit of matte white eyeshadow to my inner corners to make me look more awake. (~2 minutes)
Last step is lips! I mostly like to go for a simple Chapstick but today I chose my newest addition to my collection : my NYX butter gloss in Créme Brulee. (~30 seconds)
Depending on how much time is left, I use a peachy pink blush and a clear browgel to set my brows. These steps are not that important for me in the mornings because I feel like I do look somewhat presentable without them, but it's nice to use them if there's time. (~1 minute)

So, I approximately need 8-10 minutes in the mornings to do my makeup. Not that bad, huh?

Outfit:
For my outfit I always go for something really comfortable.
I'm wearing a black pair of high waisted jeans from H&M with an oversized black knit sweater. It looks like a really boring outfit, but the sweater has faux leather sleeves which adds a really cool vibe to it. For shoes I'm going with a black pair of cut out booties. I think little black Chelsea boots would look super cute with this outfit, too. For accessories I like to keep it pretty simple with my rose gold Michael Kors watch (to know when schools finally over haha!). I'm still using the same Mango bag for school (which you can see in my "what's in my schoolbag" post). I'm sorry, but I had no time to take some proper photos of my outfit.
Not from google, combined pictures from H&M myself.

That's it for today's post and it's also the end of my back to school series. Do you want to see series like that more often? Let me know in the comments below.

Favourite highstreet shops and picks - TeenBlogSeries

Welcome to another post in the TeenBlogSeries! You probably know that today's theme is fashion orientated and it's all about highstreet shops and picks. Click here to see the first post in the TeenBloogSeries, which will give you some information about the project.

Since I'm a teen and still in school (obviously duh..) I don't like to go all out and spent a huge amount of money on my clothes. I mostly shop at H&M, Zara or New Look and to be honest : we don't have many shops around here haha (H&M is like 40 minutes away from here and Zara is 60 minutes away...).
I'll now show you some of my favourite pieces from these shops starting off with H&M, where I definitely buy the most.

This blouse is by far my favourite and it has been around 25€/20£/30$ last year. It's just plain black and has golden details. The necklace is also from H&M and was only 5/3£/6,50$, a real bargain! If you're on the hunt for a new blouse, go check out H&M, they always have some really pretty ones.
This is my favourite cardigan ever! It's sooo soft! It is just a plain beige knit cardigan without buttons. The front is in this waterfall style (the front is longer than in the back) and it looks really pretty on. Since it is a basic, it goes well with nearly everything. I think this was around 20€/15£/25$.
I have many shirts in this style and this specific color. There is just something about it, that I really like. It's a really thin fabric and it has a loose and flowy cut with a low back. You can either wear it off the shoulder (which is my favourite) or just how you'd normally wear it. I recently saw this back in the stores, so definitly go and have a look. It was less than 20€/15£/25$ !

I can only online shop to get stuff from New Look, but it's definitely worth it. This is my favourite piece from this brand.
This white top has really pretty crochet detailing on the front. It's really sheer and flowy. I loved this for the summer season because it's a little bit see-through and it's really pretty with a coorful bandeau underneath. I think it has been 20€/15£/25$ again.

And this is by far my favourite thing from Zara
This knit sweater is by far the warmest, softest and most comfortable sweater I ever owned.  The neckline is really pretty and I love that it's almost off the shoulders. I have to say that this was more on the pricey side, because it's made out of angora wool. I got this when it was on sale for 40€/30£/50$ (originally 75€/60£/95$), so I did save nearly half of the original price.

I think you've seen that I basically only wear black, white and grey haha.
That's it for today's post, I hope you enjoyed it. Where do you like to shop?

School supplies Haul - Back to school #2

Today I went out to buy some school supplies because schools right around the corner (I'm already crying..). School starts next week and it will be sooo stressful (read this post to find out some more). I thought I'd get so much more stuff, there is nothing I love more than stationery stuff. This is what I got!

Of course I had to get some notebooks, to write down all my stuff.
I know many people get one notebook for each subject, but I use one notebook for all and then rip out the pages and put them into folders.
That leads to the next thing I bought, which are folders! I like to get them in many different colors, one for each subject (for example green for biology [because flowers etc are green haha] or brown for geography [because earth is brown haha]). I realized I only have 5 subjects that need folders, so I chose these ones.
I also bought some exercise books where I write down my stuff in all my language classes and in math. I got a couple which are lined and two which are checked.
On to the probably most used things for me : highlighters! I bought this pack with different colors, but I mostly use the yellow ones. I'm also in love with these stickt tabs. They're a great help when you need to learn for exams and mark pages in your book.
Another thing I bought is this huge binder. Once a folder is full or we continue with another topic, I switch all the papers to this binder, so that I don't have to carry around 5 kilogram of paper.
I also bought some pen mines, because I love the way my pen writes, so I always change up the mines instead of switching the whole pen. Another thing I bought are these correction rollers and a non-permanent pen to write down stuff on projector foils for any mini presentations.
These are the two planners I've got this year. I got the left one for free from my school and I think it's really pretty and nearly perfect, but it's made out of paper and I fear that it will ripp really easy and I really don't want it to haha. The one on the right has a plastic cover which will prevent it from ripping. I don't like it as much as the one from my school because the pages look really boring and the calender has nearly no space to write things in, which isn't what I was looking for.. I don't know which one to use!

I didn't buy much this year, so it's a short post today.. I hope you don't mind and enjoyed it anyways! When do you go back to school?

Break from blogging?

Some of you already read it on twitter: I'm currently thinking about either taking a break from my blog or reducing the posts to one per week (I think I'll just post less because I can't just quit, my blog is like my baby haha). I absolutely love blogging and I have so much fun doing it, but I'm currently searching for universities and the next school year will be really important and stressful for me.
Even though I plan on spending a year in America as soon as I finish school I have to think about which university I will be attending, because I won't be in Germany when I need to apply. I realized that the studies I want to take are rare in Germany (there are only a handful of universities I could attend). Most of them are privat and I would have to pay 600€ per month, others are too far away for my liking and nearly all of them want an average of 1,5 or higher (I'm currently at 2,2 with some begging in two classes haha). Next semester will only be 3 month (without breaks and stuff ).

I have to write about 6 exams in the first month and about 10 in the following 2 month (THAT'S CRAZY AND STRESSFUL AND AH). The second semester will be 2 month where I have to take 10 exams and then I have to take my finals..

I'll have to study my butt off to get an average below 2,0 and I really want to get one to study what really interests me (which by the way is "English and American culture and business studies", which will allow me to study 2 semesters abroad and to work in international companies once I'm ready). Since I cannot afford 600€ plus rent for an apartement every month I have to get a better average in school.

I'll be studying most of my free time, so I fear that there won't be much time for blogging.. I think I'll blog as much as possible, but I think you all will understand that school needs to come first and I probably cannot stick to my blogging schedule of 3 posts a week anymore (I barely stuck to it the last weeks..). I will definitely finish the #teenblogseries I started and I already have some posts scheduled. I will try to schedule as many posts as possible the next days (as long as I still have time to write some) to make sure I don't have to stress when school has started again. I really want to posts to have good quality and I'd rather not upload than upload something I'm not happy with.

I hope you understand and bare with me if there are weeks without any posts.. I do love my blog and all you beautiful faces reading this, but a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do.

Best foundation and brow routine - TeenBlogSeries

The theme of the second week in the TeenBlogSeries is foundation and brow routine.
I think most of you know that I don't tend to wear foundation and I really don't think it's necessary on a day to day basis when you're a teen. I love to go out without makeup from time to time and if you don't feel too uncomfortable without it, you should too (your skin will thank you when you're older!!).

I tend to only wear concealer (preferably the maybelline fit me concealer [No.15] and the KIKO full coverage concealer [No.1]) and a powder to even out my skin.
Sometimes I contour either with the benefit hoola bronzer or with the bodyshop honey bronzer (which is nearly the same and much cheaper!). That's it for my face routine, it's really simple.
Since I'm really neutral on my face in general, I like my brows to be defined but not too drawn on. I mostly start to fill them in with a matte brown eyeshadow or a brow powder. My favourite eyeshadow to do so is one from Manhattan in the shade "mad maroon".
Afterwards I like to use a browgel to keep my eyebrows and the color in place. Just go for a clear gel or a tinted one if you want some extra definition. My favourite is the maybelline brow drama.

That's it for todays post. It's still weird uploading on mondays haha.
Which brow products do you recommend? I'd love to try out some new ones !

DIY Notebooks - Back to School #1

So, since school is about to start again (at least where I live) I came up with my first ever series. This is going to consist of 3 parts so follow me on bloglovin to keep up with the posts!

I've seen this DIY all over YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest, and it's the most adorable way to spice up your notebooks (or anything else you want to change a little bit).
All you need to do is basically print out photos, arrange them and then glue them down to your notebook.

Just google something you like or use pictures of you and your friends or any other memories. I like to print them out quite small, but that's just my preference.
Then go ahead and cut out all the little pictures. It doesn't have to be a square or anything like that, you can also cut it out in triangles or circles. Do whatever you want!
The last step is arranging the photos and glueing them down. Just cut of any access, if needed.

I love the way this looks, kinda like a tumblr dashboard.
Keep your eyes open for the next "Back To School" posts and have a nice week.
