School Makeup and Outfit - Back to school #3

This is the last post in my back to school series. Today I'll show you which makeup look I'll be wearing in school and what I'll wear to feel extra comfortable but still pretty cute and fashionable. I did stopped the time while doing my makeup to give an impression of how long I need to get ready in the mornings.

Makeup:
I like to keep my makeup really simple for school, so save as much time as possible in the mornings. I start off by moisturizing my skin. I have to say that I used to skip this step but I recently realized that especially a well moisturized under eye area makes me look much more awake! (~30 seconds)

I then apply the Maybelline Fit me! concealer to cover up my under eye circles (which can get really bad during school) and any other spots on my face. My skin has been really weird in the past weeks, I guess my skin knows that it's time for school and the stress coming along with that. If the coverage of the liquid concealer wasn't enough to cover everything up I also apply a little bit of the KIKO full coverage concealer. (~1.30 minutes)
I powder my face to set the concealer and then continue to my favourite step : bronzeeeer! I've been super into contouring and bronzing up my face, so I obviously cannot skip this step. I love using the Bodyshop Honey bronzer because it looks super natural (and it's pitch black outside when I get up and I haven't got good lighting in my room. I'd be afraid using the Hoola bronzer in the dark because I would probably use way too much, this cannot happen with the Honey bronzer..). (~1.30 minutes)
Next up are the brows. On school days I like to go with a matte brown eyeshadow and quickly fill in any sparse spots. I'm mixing these two shades (Lorac "Taupe" and Manhattan "Mad Maroon"). (~30 seconds)
I then apply the Astor Play it Big mascara to my top and bottom lashes and apply a tiny little bit of matte white eyeshadow to my inner corners to make me look more awake. (~2 minutes)
Last step is lips! I mostly like to go for a simple Chapstick but today I chose my newest addition to my collection : my NYX butter gloss in Créme Brulee. (~30 seconds)
Depending on how much time is left, I use a peachy pink blush and a clear browgel to set my brows. These steps are not that important for me in the mornings because I feel like I do look somewhat presentable without them, but it's nice to use them if there's time. (~1 minute)

So, I approximately need 8-10 minutes in the mornings to do my makeup. Not that bad, huh?

Outfit:
For my outfit I always go for something really comfortable.
I'm wearing a black pair of high waisted jeans from H&M with an oversized black knit sweater. It looks like a really boring outfit, but the sweater has faux leather sleeves which adds a really cool vibe to it. For shoes I'm going with a black pair of cut out booties. I think little black Chelsea boots would look super cute with this outfit, too. For accessories I like to keep it pretty simple with my rose gold Michael Kors watch (to know when schools finally over haha!). I'm still using the same Mango bag for school (which you can see in my "what's in my schoolbag" post). I'm sorry, but I had no time to take some proper photos of my outfit.
Not from google, combined pictures from H&M myself.

That's it for today's post and it's also the end of my back to school series. Do you want to see series like that more often? Let me know in the comments below.

School supplies Haul - Back to school #2

Today I went out to buy some school supplies because schools right around the corner (I'm already crying..). School starts next week and it will be sooo stressful (read this post to find out some more). I thought I'd get so much more stuff, there is nothing I love more than stationery stuff. This is what I got!

Of course I had to get some notebooks, to write down all my stuff.
I know many people get one notebook for each subject, but I use one notebook for all and then rip out the pages and put them into folders.
That leads to the next thing I bought, which are folders! I like to get them in many different colors, one for each subject (for example green for biology [because flowers etc are green haha] or brown for geography [because earth is brown haha]). I realized I only have 5 subjects that need folders, so I chose these ones.
I also bought some exercise books where I write down my stuff in all my language classes and in math. I got a couple which are lined and two which are checked.
On to the probably most used things for me : highlighters! I bought this pack with different colors, but I mostly use the yellow ones. I'm also in love with these stickt tabs. They're a great help when you need to learn for exams and mark pages in your book.
Another thing I bought is this huge binder. Once a folder is full or we continue with another topic, I switch all the papers to this binder, so that I don't have to carry around 5 kilogram of paper.
I also bought some pen mines, because I love the way my pen writes, so I always change up the mines instead of switching the whole pen. Another thing I bought are these correction rollers and a non-permanent pen to write down stuff on projector foils for any mini presentations.
These are the two planners I've got this year. I got the left one for free from my school and I think it's really pretty and nearly perfect, but it's made out of paper and I fear that it will ripp really easy and I really don't want it to haha. The one on the right has a plastic cover which will prevent it from ripping. I don't like it as much as the one from my school because the pages look really boring and the calender has nearly no space to write things in, which isn't what I was looking for.. I don't know which one to use!

I didn't buy much this year, so it's a short post today.. I hope you don't mind and enjoyed it anyways! When do you go back to school?

Break from blogging?

Some of you already read it on twitter: I'm currently thinking about either taking a break from my blog or reducing the posts to one per week (I think I'll just post less because I can't just quit, my blog is like my baby haha). I absolutely love blogging and I have so much fun doing it, but I'm currently searching for universities and the next school year will be really important and stressful for me.
Even though I plan on spending a year in America as soon as I finish school I have to think about which university I will be attending, because I won't be in Germany when I need to apply. I realized that the studies I want to take are rare in Germany (there are only a handful of universities I could attend). Most of them are privat and I would have to pay 600€ per month, others are too far away for my liking and nearly all of them want an average of 1,5 or higher (I'm currently at 2,2 with some begging in two classes haha). Next semester will only be 3 month (without breaks and stuff ).

I have to write about 6 exams in the first month and about 10 in the following 2 month (THAT'S CRAZY AND STRESSFUL AND AH). The second semester will be 2 month where I have to take 10 exams and then I have to take my finals..

I'll have to study my butt off to get an average below 2,0 and I really want to get one to study what really interests me (which by the way is "English and American culture and business studies", which will allow me to study 2 semesters abroad and to work in international companies once I'm ready). Since I cannot afford 600€ plus rent for an apartement every month I have to get a better average in school.

I'll be studying most of my free time, so I fear that there won't be much time for blogging.. I think I'll blog as much as possible, but I think you all will understand that school needs to come first and I probably cannot stick to my blogging schedule of 3 posts a week anymore (I barely stuck to it the last weeks..). I will definitely finish the #teenblogseries I started and I already have some posts scheduled. I will try to schedule as many posts as possible the next days (as long as I still have time to write some) to make sure I don't have to stress when school has started again. I really want to posts to have good quality and I'd rather not upload than upload something I'm not happy with.

I hope you understand and bare with me if there are weeks without any posts.. I do love my blog and all you beautiful faces reading this, but a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do.

DIY Notebooks - Back to School #1

So, since school is about to start again (at least where I live) I came up with my first ever series. This is going to consist of 3 parts so follow me on bloglovin to keep up with the posts!

I've seen this DIY all over YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest, and it's the most adorable way to spice up your notebooks (or anything else you want to change a little bit).
All you need to do is basically print out photos, arrange them and then glue them down to your notebook.

Just google something you like or use pictures of you and your friends or any other memories. I like to print them out quite small, but that's just my preference.
Then go ahead and cut out all the little pictures. It doesn't have to be a square or anything like that, you can also cut it out in triangles or circles. Do whatever you want!
The last step is arranging the photos and glueing them down. Just cut of any access, if needed.

I love the way this looks, kinda like a tumblr dashboard.
Keep your eyes open for the next "Back To School" posts and have a nice week.

School life and gap year

This is going to be a longer post so grab a cup of tea or coffe, snuggle up, lean back and get ready for a lot of reading!

If you didn't already knew : the German school system always changes (at least the time you have to spent in high school) and I feel like its way more complicated than the American or the British school system.

You obviously go to kindergarten, four years primary school and then you have to decide which school you will be going to next. There is a school called "hauptschule" (graduation when you are around 14-15), a school called "realschule" which is kinda like middle school (graduation when you are around 15-16) and "gymnasium" which is like high school (at the moment you graduate when you are 17-18 but it'll soon change to 18-19).
Differently gifted children go to different types if schools - the more intelligent you are the longer you have to go to school (which is, if you think about it, really stupid haha).
When you went to high school you'll be able to go to university afterwards. When you stopped school after any other school you can only start working in a job which doesn't require studies (but when you've been in middle school you can still go to high school afterwards!).

I decided to go to high school, even though my parents wanted me to go to middle school because they thought I couldn't handle the pressure or something like that.

In year 10 I had to decide in which subjects I want to take my finals in and I chose art, german, geography, english and biology. I also have to attend classes in math, religious education, sports (which pulls down my average SO MUCH because I always fail at team sports) for 4 semesters and politics, history and something like theater for two semesters. I also had to choose jurisprudence for 4 semesters and I chose spanish for 2 semesters, too.
My schedule at the moment
As soon as this semester ends and the 1,5 last and final one starts I'll have to write many exams which will be important for my graduation and then in May 2015 : my finals which will be followed by my graduation and prom in July (only if I pass my finals but neither I nor my teachers think that I'll fail so I'm optimistic)!

I think I am able to say that I'm a good student. In Germany, the grades in the last two years go from a scale from 0 to 15 (15 is the best).
Currently my average is somewhere around 11 (I'd like it to be better, but I'm still proud of it!).

At the moment I'm still 16 and if I would want to start going to university after I graduated I would have to apply to different universities right now but I still don't know what I want to do with my life. In my opinion it's kinda unrealistic to expect students to know what they want to do the rest of their lifes when they're only 16 or 17. We're all still so young!
I definitely can't decide something so important right now, so I decided to focus on getting a good graduation grade which will give me the opportunity to do nearly everything I could imagine later on in my life.

So, I'll take a gap year next summer and I plan on doing an aupair year in America or in the UK to improve my English and to have better chances at the job market when I'm older (because I definitely want to do something with the English language). I'm really into America, their lifestyle and the landscapes and I really want to experience it myself but at the same time I'm afraid of being a 12h flight away from my family and friends so the United Kingdom would be a great alternative because it's really pretty and interesting, too (and I'd only be 1-2h away from home, yay!). Maybe I do both, who knows. I'm a real family person so I'm not really sure what to do now. I want ro travel A LOT during my gap year but I think I won't have enough money for that (I don't have time for a job at the moment..) and I hope I'll know what I want to study when that year is over!

That's all I can think of right now (and I think it's enough anyways haha!!) but if you have any questions or suggestions what I can do in my gap year feel free to message me.

What's in my schoolbag

Since I'm still going to school (only one more year though) I thought I'd do a what's in my school bag post.

This is the bag I'm currently using for school. It's a dark navy blue tote bag from Mango and it kinda looks like a Michael Kors bag (which actually made me buy it because I didn't want to spend a huge amount of money on a bag which will probably be scratched after I've used it for one semester in school). It isn't available anymore but it was around 30,00€/35,00$/25,00£.
It closes with a huge zipper on the top and it also has a little zipper compartment in the inside.
Of course you gotta have all your school stuff in there, so this is the amount of stuff I usually need on a typical school day.
I don't want to buy lots of expensive food in school so I bring some food and water myself and because I have to take the bus to get to school I gotta have my wallet with money and my bus ticket.
I usually pop some fruit into my bag but I didn't want to chop it the day before.
I also throw some tissues, deodorant, hairspray and some mints in there because nobody wants a stinky breath in school!

In the little zipper compartment is some makeup and a mini brush. I usually just bring concealer and a powder because I'm way too lazy in the morning to put a full face of makeup on so I don't need to touch up eyeshadow or lipstick or anything like that.
KIKO full coverage concealer, Manhatten soft compact powder transparent
That's it, that's all I carry in my bag. Not much but it's still really heavy on my shoulder haha!

I thought about writing a post about school in general. Would you be interested in a post about school and what I plan on doing after I graduated next year?
