Am I Back?

Hello Guys,

I know, long time no see.. like reeeeally long time. It has been almost 2 years since I decided to stop blogging because of school. I graduated having the 15th best average in the whole class of 2015, so I'd say putting my focus on school was definitely worth it – education is really important after all.

Originally I desperately wanted to go to America, but there has been a slight change of plans. It was all very spontaneous and to be honest I don't now whether I will regret it or not. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do anymore and I didn't want to start anything until I was 100% sure.. I started looking into colleges but I couldn't decide what to study, so I started applying to different jobs throughout Germany. Working for 2 years couldn't be so wrong, huh? I was really late and I didn't think anyone would take me anymore. I like to think it was fate that I got accepted for the job I was hoping for, even though it was a 3-hour long train journey away from home. End of the story: I'm 17, just moved 3 hours far away from my family and friends, am an employee at a huge company and I will begin to work in a FREAKING SKYSCRAPER in the middle of August. I'd say that doesn't sound bad at all! I really like the place I'm working at and I love my new apartement, but moving out was/is really hard for me and to be honest I don't get along with one of my new roommates, which makes everything even harder. My dream of going to the USA isn't gone though: I will definitely go there some day, whether it'll be in 2 years as AuPair, for vacation or for work! Well, I'll be going to England next year, so that's definitely a start (I mean: who can say “No” to people with a British accent? - I definitely can't!).

That was a lot of talking, but I started this post for another reason. I wanted to come here and ask you guys something: Is there still someone reading my blog? I really want to get back into blogging, probably more lifestyle than beauty since I'm now living in a really big city and I want to share my experiences with you guys (I still love beauty though). I am also thinking about changing the appearance of my blog as well as maybe move to wordpress.com. There are so much more possibilities when you want to change the layout!

Maybe you could leave me a comment, telling me that you're still here and what you would think about me switching to wordpress.. Or you can tweet me!

I am very much looking forward to get back into this, you have no idea!

Update Post - Firenze

Before I continue to tell you some bad news, I want to thank each and everyone that congratulated me for my birthday! I don't think I've been that happy on my birthday for ages, you guys are so sweet, I really appreciated it!!

Now on to the not-so-good stuff.. I think you can already tell by one of my latest post that I'm currently in Firenze. This is just supposed to be a quick update kind of post, because I don't have Wifi where I am staying at.

I'm really sorry and I hope you can understand that there won't be a proper post this week. I'll still try and upload on Sunday (I'm coming back on Saturday) but I won't promise anything since I don't think I'll make it.. I'm really bummed out because I've never missed a week !

Nevertheless, there is still some positive news! There will be a "Follow Me Around" post next week, so I'll take you with me when I'm on vacation. I will probably split up that post into two parts, depending on how much footage I'll get.

I hope you're at least looking forward to the FMA and again, I am so sorry to skip this weeks posts..
Have a nice week and I'll talk to you soon on twitter or next week on the blog!

Makeup bag for Firenze

Some of you might know that I'm going to travel to Firenze, Italy on Saturday and I'm going to stay there till Friday. I'm going by train so it's going to be a loooong 14h journey (at least it's over night, so that I can get some sleep).
I love to snoop into other peoples stuff, so I thought why don't give you guys a look into my makeup bag for the next week.

Of course I have to take all the basics with me, starting of with my maybelline fit me concealer and the KIKO full coverage concealer. They are the only products I use on my face, because I don't like to wear foundation when it's hot and I expect Firenze to be warm, even though it's October..
I also bring the benefit hoola bronzer, the sleek "life's a peach" blush, a maybelline highlighter (it's really old I don't even know the name anymore..) and a translucent powder from Manhattan. I really like to contour my face at the moment and these are the products I use most to do so.
I just realized I photographed the powder twice, whoopsy
Other must haves for me are the maybelline the rocket volume mascara and the Astor big and beautiful mascara. They make my lashes really big and voluminous and long!
I'm really into brows lately, so I bring the maybelline brow drama in "dark brown" and a matte brown eyeshadow from manhatten ("mad maroon") with me.
Lastly I brought my Lorac pro palette to get a pretty eye makeup when I'm going out and this palette is just perfect because it has all kind of colors. I also bring the "behind the scenes" eyeshadow primer from lorac to make sure my eyemakup stays all night.
I normally wouldn't bring so much for a vacation (I like to run around without makeup on), but because it's my birthday next Wednesday (YEEEEY) I want to go out and celebrate with my friends, so I want to be pretty and have a nice makeup look.

I also bring some makeup remover wipes by Bebe and my cleansing gel by Aok. To have smooth and moisturized skin, I bring my favourite moisturizer by Bebe and my eye cream by Balea because I have a super dry eye-area lately (you can see most of these products in my skincare routine).

Of course I'll also pack stuff like toothbrush and toothpaste, a hairbrush, shower gel, shampoo, deodorant etc..

What do you travel with (makeup wise)?
I hope you enjoyed today's post!

School supplies Haul - Back to school #2

Today I went out to buy some school supplies because schools right around the corner (I'm already crying..). School starts next week and it will be sooo stressful (read this post to find out some more). I thought I'd get so much more stuff, there is nothing I love more than stationery stuff. This is what I got!

Of course I had to get some notebooks, to write down all my stuff.
I know many people get one notebook for each subject, but I use one notebook for all and then rip out the pages and put them into folders.
That leads to the next thing I bought, which are folders! I like to get them in many different colors, one for each subject (for example green for biology [because flowers etc are green haha] or brown for geography [because earth is brown haha]). I realized I only have 5 subjects that need folders, so I chose these ones.
I also bought some exercise books where I write down my stuff in all my language classes and in math. I got a couple which are lined and two which are checked.
On to the probably most used things for me : highlighters! I bought this pack with different colors, but I mostly use the yellow ones. I'm also in love with these stickt tabs. They're a great help when you need to learn for exams and mark pages in your book.
Another thing I bought is this huge binder. Once a folder is full or we continue with another topic, I switch all the papers to this binder, so that I don't have to carry around 5 kilogram of paper.
I also bought some pen mines, because I love the way my pen writes, so I always change up the mines instead of switching the whole pen. Another thing I bought are these correction rollers and a non-permanent pen to write down stuff on projector foils for any mini presentations.
These are the two planners I've got this year. I got the left one for free from my school and I think it's really pretty and nearly perfect, but it's made out of paper and I fear that it will ripp really easy and I really don't want it to haha. The one on the right has a plastic cover which will prevent it from ripping. I don't like it as much as the one from my school because the pages look really boring and the calender has nearly no space to write things in, which isn't what I was looking for.. I don't know which one to use!

I didn't buy much this year, so it's a short post today.. I hope you don't mind and enjoyed it anyways! When do you go back to school?

Break from blogging?

Some of you already read it on twitter: I'm currently thinking about either taking a break from my blog or reducing the posts to one per week (I think I'll just post less because I can't just quit, my blog is like my baby haha). I absolutely love blogging and I have so much fun doing it, but I'm currently searching for universities and the next school year will be really important and stressful for me.
Even though I plan on spending a year in America as soon as I finish school I have to think about which university I will be attending, because I won't be in Germany when I need to apply. I realized that the studies I want to take are rare in Germany (there are only a handful of universities I could attend). Most of them are privat and I would have to pay 600€ per month, others are too far away for my liking and nearly all of them want an average of 1,5 or higher (I'm currently at 2,2 with some begging in two classes haha). Next semester will only be 3 month (without breaks and stuff ).

I have to write about 6 exams in the first month and about 10 in the following 2 month (THAT'S CRAZY AND STRESSFUL AND AH). The second semester will be 2 month where I have to take 10 exams and then I have to take my finals..

I'll have to study my butt off to get an average below 2,0 and I really want to get one to study what really interests me (which by the way is "English and American culture and business studies", which will allow me to study 2 semesters abroad and to work in international companies once I'm ready). Since I cannot afford 600€ plus rent for an apartement every month I have to get a better average in school.

I'll be studying most of my free time, so I fear that there won't be much time for blogging.. I think I'll blog as much as possible, but I think you all will understand that school needs to come first and I probably cannot stick to my blogging schedule of 3 posts a week anymore (I barely stuck to it the last weeks..). I will definitely finish the #teenblogseries I started and I already have some posts scheduled. I will try to schedule as many posts as possible the next days (as long as I still have time to write some) to make sure I don't have to stress when school has started again. I really want to posts to have good quality and I'd rather not upload than upload something I'm not happy with.

I hope you understand and bare with me if there are weeks without any posts.. I do love my blog and all you beautiful faces reading this, but a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do.

10 facts about me - TeenBlogSeries

Maybe you heard about it, maybe you don't. There is this new project called TeenBlogSeries, where a lot of teen bloggers participate.
Teen Bloggers Anouska Millar and Beth have decided to start a project called #TeenBlogSeries. Its aim is to bring together lots of the teens/young adults in the blogging community. For the next ten consecutive weeks, over 80 bloggers will be writing every Monday at 6:30pm about many different things, all beauty, lifestyle or fashion related. You can view everyones posts by going to the hashtag on twitter "TeenBlogSeries". If you would like to get involved email: anouskateenblogger@googlemail.com

Since I'm still a teen blogger, I joined the group of nearly 80 people and here it is, my first post in this project. There will be a new post every Monday and many other bloggers will post about the same topic. So without further a do, let's get started with the first post : 10 facts about me!

1.) I'm a huge perfectionist.
2.) I'm really shy/unconfident in school and the total opposite in my free time.
3.) I rarely eat pork and vegetables and prefer chicken/fish and fruit.
4.) I'd rather have a family night than a girls night out (at least most of the time).
5.) I am basically obsessed with the USA.
6.) When I'm alone, I always walk around with my phone in my hand to look social.
7.) I thought about starting a YouTube channel several times, but I'm afraid that people would make fun of me so I wait until I'm out of school.
8.) I always text first (and think that I'm annoying).
9.) I'm a caring/loving person. If I like or love someone, I don't let them go so easily and I'll think about them years after we lost contact.
10.) I'm really ambitious in everything I do.

Hope you enjoyed today's post.
Leave me a fact about yourself in the comments, would love to get to know something about you!

Impressions - Baltic Sea

So, I just came back from vacation to a small town at the baltic sea and I really want to share some impressions, because I really enjoyed it (even though it felt more like autumn rather than summer..)! This is mainly going to be photos with little descriptions, so if you don't like photo-based posts.. this probably isn't going to be super-amazing for you. I hope you'll still enjoy this post !

There will be an Outfits of the week post, so keep your eyes open for that one!

What's in my suitcase

I'M GOING ON VACATION THIS SATURDAY, WHOHOO!
Can you tell I'm exited ? I'm really looking forward to that week, because the last year stressed me out. I know the next school year will be even more stressful, so I really need to relax and restore my energy. I love to snoop into other peoples stuff, so here is what I bring with me.

Clothes:
Of course you need to bring all the basics with you (underwear, socks ...).
I don't know what the weather will be like because it has always been like one day with pouring rain and the next day sunshine with 30 degrees celsius.
In case it's going to be cold and rainy I put some high waisted jeans and some leggings into my suitcase. I also bring a hoodie, a sweatshirt and some really thin longsleeves with me because I'm always freezing.
I hope it's going to be warm though, so I pack a pair of high waisted black shorts and a casual black maxiskirt. To go with it, I bring 4 cute little tops, 3 bandeaus (one is floral patterned and another one is used as part of my pyjamas) and a cardigan, in case it gets chillier.
For the evenings I bring my leather jacket and a rain jacket (in case it rains), which is way too big on me (but who cares).
I'm obsessed with dresses at the moment. These are my favourite two dresses (a black and a blue floras skater dress) and of course I have to bring them with me.
When it's hot, you'll obviously go for a swim, so I bring a bikini with me. I only bring one because it's probably going to be around only 20 degree celsius.. The last thing I bring with me are pyjama shorts (yeah, I do have superman shorts haha) and a big t-shirt to sleep in.

Cosmetics:
You gotta bring the basics with you, which in my case are two concealers, powder, bronzer, blush and highlighter as well as mascara (plus two powder brushes). I also bring my maybelline brow drama and a clear browgel, because I always use one of them.
To have a little pop of color I bring a bright coral lipstick and a lipgloss. I also want my lips to be moisturized, so I bring a lipbalm.
To smell good, I bring my deodorant and my perfume. And for my hair I bring hairspray, bobby pins, hair ties and my tangle teezer. Of course I can't forget my straightener, heat protection spray and a serum for afterwards!
To remove my makeup I bring some makeup wipes and my cleansing gel. I put my toothbrush and stuff into my suitcase and also bring moisturizer to keep my skin moisturized.
Of course you also bring the things you use in the shower, towels, body lotion and sunscreen.

Electronics:
For Electronics I bring my phone and headphones. To take some photos for some future posts I bring my camera and I also bring my laptop to write down any post ideas. I also bring chargers for everything. I cannot post a picture right now because I didn't put these things into my suitcase yet..

I feel like this is a lot of stuff because I had to pack clothes for warm and cold weather.. Do you take that much stuff too?
Hope you enjoyed this little peek into my suitcase!

Festival of Lights

Yesterday I went to this festival with many walking acts, a lot of food, a lasershow and a huge firework (the biggest in Germany btw) at the end. It was great, kind of expensive (14€/19$/11£ plus food and drinks, which were really overpriced and it wasn't even that good!), but great! Of course I took some pictures to show you what I've experienced, because I really like sharing these little moments with you guys.
This is going to be a post with many pictures, but who doesn't like a little firework and some pretty pictures? I hope you enjoy today's post and have had a great weekend just as I did!
I also tried to take some photos during the lasershow, but I forgot my camera and photos taken with my phone don't have the best quality when its dark haha.

Summer Smoothies

One of my favourite things in summer are smoothies. I drink them for breakfast, as little snacks and even like to drink them for dinner when I'm not extremely hungry! There are so many ways you can make them, you don't have to stick to recipies.

1) The first one I really like is a normal raspberry smoothie.
You only need : - Raspberries
                          - Apple or Orange Juice

                         (- Really fine Oatmeal)

Just throw frozen or fresh raspberries in the blender. Then, you'll only need to add a tiny bit of juice (it's always easier to start off with less liquids because sometimes it can get difficult to guess how much you need for a smoothie consistency). I like to use the liquid to measure out how much smoothie I want to get. If you use one glass of juice you'll get about one glass of smoothie. I also like to add some oatmeal to make everything a little bit thicker. Blend until everything is smooth.

Sorry for the crappy quality of these pictures, but I made this one in the morning and was running out of time, so I had no time to search my camera..

2) The second one is a breakfast smoothie. It gives a lot of energy for your day.
All you need is:   - Oatmeal
                           - Strawberries
                           - Blueberries
                           - Frozen raspberries
                           - Any type of milk/juice

                           - Almonds or nuts (optional)

Start off by chopping off the greens (if you use fresh fruit, the strawberries in my local grocery store looked disgusting so I opted for frozen ones..) and cleaning your fruit. Pop the frozen and the fresh fruit (I recommend adding the frozen fruit first, because it's harder to blend) into your blender and add your liquid. Also add some oatmeal and your nuts. Blend until everything is smooth and you don't have big chunks in there anymore. You can always vary with the amount of fruit you use, thats why I don't give you any measurements. Of course you can always change up the fruits and use the ones you like most.

3) The third smoothie is a more tropical one (well, the only tropical fruit is kiwi, but let's pretend it's made out off many fancy fruits). It's really sweet and delicious and gives a lot of energy (just like every other smoothie haha).
You will need : - Banana
                         - Kiwi

                         - Peaches
                         - Apple Juice (every other juice is great, too)

Chopp half of the banana and a peach into little chunks and scoop out the flesh of your kiwi. Put everything into your blender and add some juice. Blend until everything is smooth and add more liquid until you get your desired consistency.

If it's really hot outside, just pop some ice cubes into your blender (you want to blend them first with the highest level, because they're really hard to blend and you don't want to destroy your blender!) and everything is cold and refreshing.

That's it for todays post, I hope you enjoyed. What do you like to eat/drink in the hot summer season?
